THIRD LETTER of a word only – once they have mastered alphabetizing to the first and second letter.

It helps students look at the first letters of a word – recognize all words begin with the same two letters – so they have to alphabetize and discriminate on the third letter.

This helps students visually discriminate letters in words and determine the order the words will fall in the alphabet.
