Description
This back-to-school activity is a fun way to learn about what your students did this summer. Comic strips are a great first-week activity because there is little pressure to write a lot and students can tell you through pictures how their summer was! My students love this worksheet because it allows them to slowly ease back into the routine of school – writing, drawing, and coloring.
Included in this resource are:
- 3 blank templates with titles
- 3 pre-made comics with a few graphics and speech bubbles
Students can choose which template they are most comfortable working with to record what they did over the summer months away from school.
I personally like this activity as an alternative to journal writing in the first week. Being that we have survived a pandemic and students are coming into our classes at ALL different levels, this comic is an easy way to engage students without the pressure of a daunting writing task.
