Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Novel Study

If you are looking for a great novel to read to your class – look no further than Roald Dahl’s book: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!

I am so excited to add to my store my novel study on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as it is one of my favourite books! I have used this unit with grades 1, 2 and 3. I have included differentiated worksheets for many of the chapters and activities so you can reach all levels of learners. This unit is SUPPLY TEACHER READY – Just provide the book and the chapters are ready to be photocopied as you read.

One of my favourite parts of this novel study is being able to compare Roald Dahl’s book – Charlie and the Chocolate factory to the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie. There are 2 different versions of the movie and this lends to lots of discussions between similarities and differences and where there are liberties taken in interpretation with the movies versus the book.

In my novel study I have included worksheets with a varied array of questions for comprehension:

multiple choice

word search

word study

character study

drawing

colouring

imagination

speech bubbles

I have also included wrap up activities to assess comprehension once the book is read.

I love this unit. I have included a page with some ideas I use with my class and various activities you can incorporate while reading.
