Do you need a hands-on, engaging unit to teach your students about their local community? This unit was designed to address the outcomes in the Ontario Grade One Social studies curriculum for the local community such as:
- listing a variety of occupations in the community and explain how they meet people’s needs
- listing the different ways in which people travel around a community
- identifying physical features of their community
This unit includes:
- 32 occupation cards
- 18 Black and white & color community helper cards to sort
