Description
The fire alarm sounds…….. you safely evacuate your class and line them up…. but who is here? Who is missing? What happens if a substitute teacher is in your classroom when the alarm sounds – do they know the procedure?
I have made a fire drill procedure folder that I attach to my classroom wall by the door above the light switch. I make it once at the beginning to the year and I am never caught off guard by the fire bell again. BEST YET – It gives me peace of mind knowing if a substitute teacher is in my room they can safely and effectively carry out the procedure in my absence.
This folder functions for single classroom use. If more than one class is in a room you will have to have a folder for each class as each folder has a class list in it for attendance purposes.
This folder holds a class list, procedure file and poster reference, a map to exit the class and a fire card to determine every student is accounted for.
