Description
Do you have students that need practice with their subtraction regrouping skills?
I do, so I have created a few differentiated worksheets to meet the needs of my students to help them review and master their regrouping skills! I found returning to the classroom after COVID there are gaps so these worksheets cover:
- 1 addition worksheet ( 4 digit by 4 digit) WITH regrouping over
- 1 subtraction worksheet (4 digit by 4 digit) WITH borrowing
- 2 subtraction worksheets (3 digit by 3 digit) WITH borrowing
- 1 subtraction worksheet (2 digit by 2 digit) WITH borrowing
These 5 worksheets have students practice their adding/subtraction with regrouping skills and the answers give the solution to a riddle – and yes, I have been told these are the ultimate “mom jokes” which I will take as a compliment! LOL My students always groan at my “punny” sense of humor – but they always ask for more!! I take pride in the fact they call them “cringey”! LOL
One of my favourite aspects of these worksheets is the students don’t mind doing the math because they are so engaged in figuring out the riddle! Shhhh, don’t tell them they are learning!!
I have had teachers tell me they use these in their math centres and literacy centres! I have had teachers tell me theirs are laminated for many uses.
Originally these joke worksheets started off as an activity for my fast finisher or for a substitute teacher I had in my class and I needed extra work for those students that were always finished first. Since I made my first set, I have continued to make them – quite frankly because the students have asked for them.
