Sentence Frames for Writing

I have designed this resource with 36 different sentence frames using basic, common sight words. Each sentence frame has 4 variations (see product preview) so you can reach your students at various levels in their writing journey. As students learn about sentence construction and frame sentences they will improve their sentence formation and become confident writers producing simple English sentences. This first step in their writing journey is crucial to carrying on to make simple sentences with words, complete grammatically correct sentences and use correct sentence structure.

My grade one’s LOVE using these sentence frames because EVERY student has success. I have used these sentence frames (sometimes called sentence starters or sentence openers) with my Senior Kindergarten students that are keen to write as well. The beauty of this resource is it can be used with a wide range of age and abilities.
